We supply all bedding, pillows, towels etc, as well as 3 meals a day prepared by our excellent Angolan chef. Beer and cool-drinks are also provided, but serious drinkers should provide their own spirits, wines and liqueurs.
The weather is usually warm and sunny, and the breeze seldom exceeds 12 knots (except at the Cunene where it can really blow!). It is therefore not necessary to bring waders, boots, oilskins or winter woollies. Shorts, T-shirts, a jersey and light windcheaters are quite sufficient in the daytime, but warm jackets and track-suit pants are often necessary in the evenings, when it may be cool (especially if camping out).
Boat fishing tackle is provided but anglers should
consider bringing their own favorite reels, spinners
and plugs. We recommend 3-4 ounce spinners and
plugs; and 12-18cm “Rapalas" for those
who would like to fish from a boat. Light bass-type
and flyfishing tackle is not provided. Also not
supplied is diving and spearfishing equipment.
Other items that must be brought by visitors
include personal toiletries, cameras and film,
binoculars, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, malaria
prophylactics and “gyppo-gut” medicine.
