The Tarpon Lodge is located at the mouth of the Kwanza River, approximately 70 km south of Luanda and immediately adjacent to the sea. Comfortable cabin accommodation with a restaurant and bar built in a picturesque setting, amongst the natural vegetation on the banks of the river. Tarpon Lodge forms the base of our activities in northern Angola and excursions can be planned from the area to the various attractions close by.
The Tarpon Lodge is popular with anglers as the river is renowned for the size and numbers of resident tarpon and other game fish species. The lodge harbors our 50ft live-aboard sport-fishing vessel (Angolan Dawn), taking anglers in search of the marlin and sailfish that abound in the natural feeding grounds offshore. Angolan Dawn has a range of 500 nautical miles and can accommodate 6-8 people for a week at a time out at sea.
Tarpon Lodge is easily accessible from Luanda and given the high standards maintained plus the range of activities on offer, a very popular destination for all.
