The area around Kwanza Tarpon Lodge has an abundance of natural beauty and a vast area to explore. Kwanza Tarpon Lodge is the base of our activities in the north. Here are some examples of areas to explore:

Cabo Ledo: Cabo Ledo is located just south of Kwanza Tarpon Lodge. This stunning bay with palm lined white sandy beaches, is the perfect setting to enjoy a day on the beach or try surfing the legendary left that curls off the point. Beach bars add to the excitement with local flavour and dancing. A must see for any visitor to the area.

Luanda: Luanda is the capital city of Angola, home to 4 million, is a bustling city with many places to see. Luanda’s Ihla is famous for beach bars and is a must for any visitor to the city. The city is a true African capital with amazing contrasts and excitement.

Kissama National Park: Kissama National Park is located on the other side of the Kwanza River with growing game stocks and the recent Elephant habitation project, a must for visitors to the area.

Kwanza River cruises: River cruises aboard Sashimi ii or Angolan Dawn are available on request to explore the banks of the Kwanza River. Spotting rare birds, crocs, game species and just enjoying the mighty river.
